The Ugly American
Farrah helped me win a couple of chess games back in the day...
When I was a teenager and I learned how to play chess, well, let's say I learned how the chess pieces moved around the board, I used to test my skills on my father. Most of the time my pop whipped my butt, but occasionally, I could get the best of him.
There seemed to be two ladies that could show up on the boob tube that would so distract my father that I could really kick his ass on a chess board. Those two ladies were Cher and Farrah.
I bought that poster for my father, that one they've been showing on TV since yesterday. Farrah in a bronze colored bathing suit with that big smile and all that hair! He kept it hanging on the wall in my parents walk in closet for ever! My moms' always been a looker, so she wasn't worried by it. I called him yesterday, just to send him my condolences.
I wonder how much more we'd be hearing about her today if Michael Jackson hadn't died yesterday too. So what if she was a crumby actress in the beginning, it was fun to watch those three beauties save some friend of Charlies every week. She actually did grow into a damned fine actress. I remember her in a movie called the Burning Bed. She did a fine job there.
It's a shame when people die to early...kinda makes you think about your own mortality though...Farrah was only 62 and still, up until recently, looking pretty good. Michael was only a year older than me!
Anyway...I have work to do!
Have a nice day!
I was thinking about this on Sunday...
I was thinking of some of the things I've learned over the years from being a father.
Some of the things are pretty standard. I've learned a little patience...girls are good for trying your patience. And what the hell does that mean anyway..trying your patience? Yeah, I tried your patience and I didn't like it, give me some potatos instead! I tried his patience and all it got me was a punch in the head! Go ahead, try my patience and see where it gets you...you won't like it!
I've learned a lot of new words and even made a few new ones of my own. The first new one I made wasn't really a new word as much as a new contraction. The word is g'way. It's pronounced just like it sounds, gway. I think I made this contraction up because I was constantly saying go away! and I'm just a little lazy like that.
I've also learned that there are an infinite number of ways to say, go ask your mother. You can even pose it in the form of a question! Like, what did your mother say? Or, did you ask your mother?
Yeah, it's pretty much a cop out kind of answer, but fathers learn this only one way. It comes from having your kids ask for things and you saying yes, or no, it doesn't really matter how you answered, just that you answered the wrong way, the wrong way as in, not the way mom would have answered it. It's the safe answer. Sure, you'll get grief like, can't you ever make a decision? Why do they always come to me? But it's better than the grief you'll get when mom finds out that you let them do that! Whatever that may be!
I've also learned not to ask what the ladies are talking about when they seem to be trying to keep things from me. I asked my oldest daughter what all the hush hush was about once and she screamed at me...I'm bleeding from my vagina!!! Talk about being sorry you ever asked a question!!! Now I know why my mother said she was glad she never had to raise girls.
So, there's my Fathers Day lesson for any new fathers out there that don't know yet how stupid they really are when it comes to making choices for their kids...
Have a nice day!
Neglect is a terrible thing...
I know, I've been ignoring this thing for far too long. I probably lost any readers I may have had. Was it ever entertaining at all?
I've been pretty busy. The business grows more and more every day. I won't say that's the reason I've been ignoring the blog. I just haven't really been in the mood. I haven't felt the need to write about anything that's really been bothering me lately. Maybe because things haven't been bothering me to much lately. I guess that's a good thing.
Yeah, I could light up these pages with issues I have with this current administration. About all the things he said he was gonna do while he was running for office and all the things he's doing differently now that he's got the job.
I could piss and moan about how people want free health care and I had to do twenty FUCKING years in the military to get mine.
This is the bad thing...All these people that want everything for nothing now have the guy they think will give it to them in the white house and guess what...they ain't getting a damn thing more than they got when the guy they hated ran the place.
I think the old saying fits, the more things change, the more they stay the same. I had a buddy say something I found pretty funny the other day. I asked him to do something for me and he said..."Man, I ain't your president!" Kinda like..."who was your president last week?! I guess it goes along with that other saying I heard the other day...president is the new black..whatever!
I don't like him. I think he's a bigger fraud than any of the previous presidents and I think he's gonna get Americans hurt. We'll just leave it at that for now.
That's all I got for you'se...I'll talk at ya later!
