Some pictures to share...
I'm on the west coast again...northern California...about 75 miles north of San Fransisco. I figured I'd let you see some of what I see. I mean, I really should put this awesome camera to some good use shouldn't I?
At the Coast Guard training facility where I'm working there are these very brave deer. They know no one is gonna mess with them but they still keep an eye on us.
So this afternoon I decided I needed to take a ride up the coast. I found out I was about 45 minutes away from Bodega Bay. If you've ever seen the old classic Hitchcock thriller "The Birds" then you've heard of Bodega Bay.
This first picture is of the Potter School House. An actual school house back in the day. And the school house from the movie. Now it's a private residence. I was told that it's usually open on weekends, but this is Wednesday, so guess what...it wasn't open.
So then I found Taylor Street. In the movie this is the street that you appear to see Suzanne Pleshette running down after the birds take a break at the school house for a few minutes. What's funny about it is that they're not anywhere near each other, but you wouldn't know that watching the movie.
But then I just happened to look up at the telephone wires and noticed that there appeared to be a gathering happening. I first saw this movie when I was a kid and it really scared the hell out of me...so, when I saw these birds gathering I decided to get the hell out of Dodge, so to speak. Ain't no crows getting to this boys eyes dammit!
And I headed up the coast. I grew up near the shore, the Jersey shore, but I really love some of the scenery on the west coast so much better. Most of the east coast is just flat. Most of the west coast is pretty spectacular!
What follows is just one picture of what I saw today. I know pictures can't really show you what I see, but they are pretty sweet.
I'll do another post in a little while with some more pictures. Blogger limits how many pictures I can put in one post.
