  Pretty cool story for you...
So...my truck is acting up...no AC...and trust me, these days in Virginia Beach, you gotta have AC!

Anyway, I took my truck down to the local Shell station, because they claim to be AC experts...well, two AC system Freon charges later, my AC still wasn't working. I called the guy at the Shell station and he said...replace this...replace that...$600 and change and...$600!!! Hold the phone here boss...you killing me! He told me he wasn't trying to...but...always with the buts! I told him I'd call him back!

This all started Friday before last when I picked my truck up at the long term parking at the airport...I got in my truck on that Friday night and had no AC. Yeah, I was crying! There ain't a lot of places that work on vehicles open on Saturday, so I suffered through the weekend. The Shell guys started working on my truck on Monday...I'd have AC for half a day and then it would get warmer and warmer...

So..Saturday morning...yeah, more than a week later, I'm calling around trying to find an honest mechanic. I used to have one that I trusted completely, but he had left the shop he worked before and I had no way to find him. I called the shop that my trusted friend used to work to ask for a recommendation...you see, they don't do AC work there...anyway, the guy I talked to on the phone recommended one of the local Firestone places. I'd had luck with one of them before and went looking in the phone book for that particular shop.

I called the Firestone that I thought was the right one and the guy on the other end said, "Good morning, Firestone, this is Ken." Ken was the name of the honest mechanic I knew before...and the voice sounded awful familiar to me...

I started describing my problem...
"'98 Dodge Dakota...5.2 liter engine...bla bla bla..."
and the guy on the other end says..."is that Dakota blue?"
I said..."yeah...is this my buddy Ken from Mizer?"
"Andy!", he yells into the phone!

My response to that was..."Ken, I don't even need to talk to you, I'm bringing my truck right over!"

My mistake on Saturday morning was telling Ken what was wrong with my truck instead of letting him investigate and fix it right. I had AC for another half a day.

This morning I called my buddy back and told him that it was Tango Uniform again...
He has my truck now…he’s already called me and told me he’s got it figured out and it’ll be fixed today. I gave him extra stuff to do…you know, oil change, and some other scheduled maintenance kind of stuff…

By accident I found my honest mechanic again…when you find someone that does the job right and doesn’t try to cheat you, you gotta stick with them.

So, if you’re in Hampton Roads and you need an honest mechanic, go the Firestone on Military Hwy in Norfolk...the one by the mall...and ask for Ken. Tell him Andy sent you. He’ll treat you fair and you’ll never look for another mechanic…EVER!

One more thing...if you don't know what Tango Uniform means...you have to ask...

  Sorry...
I haven't been in a writing mood lately. I've had some things I wanted to spew about, but then when it came time to actually spew...I just wasn't in the mood.

I was gonna write about Tigers' win at the Open...about how much more enjoyable it is to watch the British Open as opposed to the US open...but when it came time to write...I just wasn't in the mood.

I was gonna write about how the next town over from me...that's Chesapeake, is now going through the same thing my town went through a few months ago over the math test required for entrance into the police force...apparently, math, or should I say some level of proficiency in math is no longer a requirement in the Hampton Roads area...that would be discrimination!

I was gonna write about how FL wants to take the local Naval Air Station away from VB...apparently, they haven't heard the new F/A-18 or they wouldn't be trying so hard!

I was gonna write about how hip hop artists are upset that the makers of Crystal...some high dollar champagne company said they couldn't control who purchased their product...and how upset some hip hop artists were at this statement...they called for a boycott of Crystal...guess what...most of the people that listen to that music boycott it anyway...only because it costs like a million a bottle...for carbonated grape juice...go figure!

I was gonna write about my last trip down to Key West, but it was pretty uneventful, so why bother…

So, as it stands right now…I have nothing good to write about…when I do…I’ll let you know!

Later!

  Have you seen this yet?

We went last week to see Superman Returns at the local IMAX theater...

Pretty cool, to see a movie at an IMAX theater. they're bigger than most screens and plus, there were 4 scenes in the movie in 3-D!

There were a couple of things about the movie that bothered me...

The thing that bothered me the most was when Perry White, the editor of the Daily Planet said, "Does he still stand for truth, justice and that other stuff?" That other stuff, for those of you that don't know, is the American way! Are we so politically correct these days that saying the American Way is politically insensitive?

Next was Supermans' new suit...what's with the diamond tread "S" on his suit? Plus it looked kinda dingy...sort of like it looked in that one Superman movie where there was a good and a bad one...

There was a couple of scenes were Superman looked a little cartoony...is that a word? Cartoony? Or should I have said, cartoonish? Anyway, it must have been part of the CGI...

Brandon Routh is a good Superman. Kate Bosworth is a good Lois Lane...

Great action scenes! Superman is still as bad...as in good...as ever! But does Kryptonite kill him or what?

The movie to me, is just a little to much of a chick flick...but still worth seeing.

And you can bet your bottom dollar that there will be another one!
